How parents help their child’s development in terms of Happiness, Developmental tasks, the Cultural Pattern they use as a Standard regarding Sex role of their child

Introduction
The earlier child development concept began with the birth of a child. The parents always take care of and interested in their children. A child has certain basic psychological needs and desires, the fulfillment of which leads to his or her development. Many events of great significance to the post-natal development, take place before birth. In order to understand the patterns of child development fully, one must know what happens to the child before s/he  is born. To understand the pattern of development nine fundamental and predictable facts about principles of development, which have important implications, must be taken into consideration.
  1. Early development is more critical than later development.
  2. Maturation and learning are responsible for development.
  3. Development follows a definite and predictable pattern.
  4. There are individual differences in development. (All individuals are different.).
  5. Each phase of development has characteristic behavior (There are periods in the developmental pattern).
  6. There are social expectations for every developmental period.
  7. Each phase of development has hazards.
  8. Happiness varies at different periods in development.
  9. Development is affected by cultural changes.
Inspired by this, a case study was done by interviewing three different parents to write a report on how parents helped their child’s development in terms of happiness, developmental tasks, the cultural pattern they use as a standard regarding sex role of their child. The result of the case study is listed below:
Parents 1
Both the parents of the child are working. The mother of a child is a teacher and father is an officer of government office. The child is 7 years old who studies in grade 3. Regarding happiness, the parents said that they gave more priority to their child’s sleep, rest, food and games or play to maintain his sound health. They tried to keep him happy fulfilling his needs in a proper social manner to enable him to be agreeable or friendly human and tried to avoid dissatisfying. They also guided their son in his learning process and enable him how to get along with other children in playing games to comfort him feel of being cared and loved by his siblings and playmates out of home and ensure his happiness. The parents were always there to help him even when he was not in good health and helped in crawling, standing, holding things, speaking, walking, vocabulary, making sentences when the boy was ready to learn. They taught hand skills such as brushing teeth and hair, bathing skills. The parents had helped their son in developing self-esteem, self-confidence and important forms of growing up and taught him his roles in the family and the society.
Parents 2
Both the parents are working. The child is 6 years old daughter who reads in class one, and his mother and father both are teachers. The parent’s paid careful attention to their child’s happiness by fulfilling her demands in a proper social manner to enable her to be agreeable or friendly human. These parents, as former parents also prioritized on the child’s sleep, rest, food and games or play for health. They helped her in every step in her growing and learning process to make her feel that they are beside her to help. They said they helped her in learning different patterns of behavior in a socially approved manner. The parents supported her in developing different skills and developmental tasks and encouraged her to get various activities with love and affection. They also helped and taught her in growing her role as a girl which is normally accepted in her society and the culture when she grew up giving her instructions on how to behave with elders and younger in the society and how she has to look after social and family matters. It means what kind of job, what is work and how she is supposed to perform her job. They also helped her in learning appropriate ways of dealing with the people.
Parents 3
In this case, the child is 8 years old boy whose mother is a school teacher but father does nothing. When asked about their child, that from the early childhood of their son, they tried to pay careful attention to him to make him happy. They also tried to satisfy their child’s needs in a more social way. They helped him in learning different patterns of behavior in a socially approved manner. However, as the child was a boy sometimes they faced difficulty to cajole him. He was obstinate as whatever he demanded should be fulfilled as they had economic problem in their family. The boy would do bad things and break the things in the room. The parents would sometimes beat to control and threaten him. However, the parents tried to make him good boy by counseling him and providing him his demands to keep him happy as far as they were able to afford the things. The parents supported him in learning different developmental tasks as the former parents. They also guided him in learning how to get along with other children at school and in the neighborhood. The parents showed their affection for their son showing their interest in his activities and praising him in his achievements to his levels of development. They also helped him in different developmental tasks. As he grew up, the parents taught him about his role as a boy to perform in the society which is normally acceptable by their culture and society.
Conclusion
In short, we can understand that all the parents are responsible for taking care of their child’s growth by fulfilling his or her demands and it is clear that all the parents gave special care to their child in order to ensure that all the children have happiness-acceptance and affection and achievement which leads towards the development of the child. Happiness is the most influential factor that affects the child’s attitude, behavior and personality. Therefore, the parents are responsible for the child’s success and failure, doing right and wrong. The parents should keep their child happy and encourage him or her to do better in life showing affection and praising him or her in every sphere what he or she does and they should try to guide them in their learning or doing things so that the Childs can get success. Thus, it is the duty of all the parents to help their children to have a goal within their potentials and achieve it.
