1. Objectives:-
By the end of this text, the students will be able to
a. read and interpret the text.
b. learn pronunciation and meaning of the following vocabulary: shrink, precisely, ratios, entire, substandard, malnutrition, glaringly, apparent
c. reinforce mathematic lesson on ratio.
d. answer the following questions:
¨ What would happen if the world shrinked?
¨ Out of 100, how many people would be male and female?
¨ How many would not be able to read?
¨ what is the reason behind the unity among people from diverse background?
2. Teaching materials:-
Handouts, word cards with the meaning, masking tape, chalk, duster, and blackboard
3. Warming up
Tell a joke
4. Teaching learning activities:-
The teacher will
a. tell the learners to read the text and try to fine the difficult or new words.
b. stick the word cards on the board and let them pronounce and guess the meaning of the words.
c. ask the questions to let them brainstorm and response orally such as what do think the tex is about? What is meant by shrink?
d. Divide the learners into group for discussion.
The students will
a. read the text and find the difficult words.
b. pronounce the words and try to guess the meaning of the words orally.
c. respond the teachers’ questions orally.
5. Evaluation
Let the learners answer the following questions orally
a. What would happen if the world shrinked?
b. Out of 100, how many would be male and female?
c. How many wouldn’t be able to read ?
d. How many wouldn’t suffer from malnutrition?
Let the learners share the sequence of the text in order as one will say one sequence and other has to continue the text order.
6. Assignment
Read the text thoroughly and find the opposites of the discussed words.
Write down 8 sentences using.
